Rebates that You Should Know About

Rebates are currently available from the Australian Federal Government as part of their $3.9 billion package to improve the energy efficiency of our homes. So there has never been a more opportune time to improve the greenness of your home.

Solar Panels
The Solar Credits program can be applied for once you have purchased a rooftop solar system. In short, once you start producing energy you can trade for cash.
Visit the Solar Homes and Communities Plan website for more information.

Ceiling insulation
F~ree insulation! Until the end of December 2011, the government is offering up to $1,600 worth of ceiling insulation. The rebate is available to owner-occupiers whose homes are currently uninsulated. Landlords and tenants are eligible to apply for up to $1,000 rebate. Tenants must seek permission from their landlord first. Call the government hotline, 1800 808 571, to confirm your eligibility and then arrange a professional to come and install it for you.
